I'm a naturalist, macro photographer, and birder based near Santa Cruz on the California coast. Most of my field time is spent at rocky intertidal sites — Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, Pillar Point, Año Nuevo, Natural Bridges — during minus tides, photographing whatever turns up in the tidepool and along the shore.

I've been documenting observations on iNaturalist since 2019, with a focus on nudibranchia, echinoderms, coastal birds, and the broader wildlife community of the California intertidal zone. I also build open-source tools for the naturalist community.

All photographs are shot in RAW on an Olympus TG-6 with a UCL-67 macro lens and twin strobes. Select images are available as fine art prints through BayPhoto.
